Sandra Infante was unjustly arrested by Chicago Police on October 23rd, 2025 while confronting and protesting ICE gestapo in the Little Village neighborhood where she’s from. While trying to protect her neighbors from being kidnapped, CPD quickly swooped in on the crowd of protesters to protect federal agents. Instead of preventing the ICE Nazis from grabbing people or shooting them, CPD instead took aim at Sandra and other protesters on the scene. Sandra was arrested and charged and is currently fighting multiple felonies for standing up to ICE.
Sandra joins hundreds of protesters who are still facing charges protesting ICE during operation Midway Blitz, with some arrests as benign as sitting on concrete barriers or not moving fast enough when given a dispersal order.
Despite the “sanctuary status” declared by politicians like Brandon Johnson and JB Pritzker, both the Illinois State Police and Chicago Police have been responsible for the bulk of the protest related arrests against ICE, with Cook County State’s Attorney Eileen O’Neal Burke following up to aggressively pursue the charges in court. It’s clear Brandon and JB are full of shit, despite the tough talk and bold proclamations, their police forces continue to repress protest in hopes to turn down the heat and keep people scared from stepping up again.
Sandra has chosen to fight these bogus charges being pinned on her. She has suffered a lot since her 48 hour hold in Cook County Jail after being arrested, having lost her job and struggling to stay afloat. But Sandra is not backing down to the repression and fighting for herself and others standing up to ICE.
It is our responsibility to support Sandra and fight back against repression when it comes down on our resistance to the system! We demand the charges against Sandra be dropped!
