In 1979, then 19-year-old Carl Miller was wrongfully convicted for the murder of Rabbi David Okunov. Carl then spent the next three decades upstate in New York prisons. He has steadily maintained his innocence the entire time.

Now, 47 years later, Carl is fighting for exoneration in court, hoping to get the justice he deserves. However, Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez is determined to stand in his way and prevent the conviction from being overturned. The DA is intentionally slowing down the process as much as possible, wasting everyone’s time, including the family members of Carl who have been traveling from across the country to support him.
We are waiting on the testimony of the trial prosecutor, Barbara Newman. She is now a retired judge with a prolific career locking up innocent people. She will be taking the stand this week, nearly 50 years after wrongfully convicting Carl.
The real criminals are people like DA Gonzalez and Judge Newman. They make careers off the stolen lives of people like Carl.
