A letter from Vincent from inside Cook County Jail
Hello My Name is Vincent Hill. I recently received a newsletter from Dare to Struggle.
Thank you for taking time out your day to reach out to me, as I’m eager to tell my story in the hope of it helping my family. It has been brought to my attention via your social platform that my wife Dequisha Johnson is working with you guys so the truth can be told, and brought to the light pertaining our case. We are a hard working, Christian, African-American family who’s sole purpose is growing together in memories and love, and serving the Lord as one unit. One evening we had a disagreement (as all families do) and CPD Detective Angela Kuc was brought into our lives to turn things upside down and cause traumatic stress to my entire family. I am a Store Manager at Autozone, a recent graduate of Walden University, where I received the honor of Summa Cum Laude the highest honor, with a 4.0 gpa. But Angela Kuc, and States Attorney Lauren Wuerth, have called me a menace to society. However, I have been in my home studying, doing homework, and with my family the past four years of my life. Furthermore while a store manager at Autozone I was assisting society get their cars back on the road. Dequisha, our children, and I attend church every Wednesday and Sunday and when we could afford it often spent time together on family dates which I MISS tremendously. Our family is now experiencing an American nightmare of what happens when you call on the people who are supposed to “SERVE AND PROTECT.” Detective Angela Kuc with the help of State Attorney Lauren Worth has destroyed our family and I can’t help but to feel like a slave to the system. These corrupt officials have thrown me into jail for attempted murder and since Dequisha isn’t taking their threats and not choosing to stick with false statements they have now turned on her and called her an unfit mom and taken our children.
This is so far from the truth!!! Dequisha is the BEST MOM I have ever met. Our children are on the honor roll, my daughter who is four is so well outspoken and can speak so well. She spends countless hours loving our children, playing, talking and helping them with everyday parenting issues. Furthermore she lead our children to have a love for the Lord and is an amazing cook. OUR children haven’t been apart from Dequisha until CPD came into our lives. While in custody, two DCFS workers came to visit me and said that they were my attorney. They then gave me information about my babies abuse. Since the children were taken in April 2025 they have been subjected to gruesome abuse and my 4 year old daughter was abused, victimized by two men in DCFS Custody. My now 9 year old son was abused deprived of food. When they spoke out they were removed again June 10, 2025 and forcibly separated as punishment for telling their family about their abuse. DCFS has covered up their abuse and yet trying to ensure that their mother is deemed unfit so that she can lose custody so they can sell her babies off, yet they are the REAL danger to ALL children. Angela Kuc and Lorin Wuerth retaliated and used babies as collateral just for a conviction.
Detective Angela Kuc is using deceptive practices to gain false arrest in the hopes of advancing her career and she doesn’t care if it’s at the expense of a Godly productive family. Detective Angela Kuc coersed a false statement from Dequisha while she was emotionally distressed. She promised Dequisha a job, protection from me by her fellow male police officers, and possibly even a relationship with one of these officers. Angela further amplified Dequisha’s emotional distress by stating that while in custody Dequisha was flirting with Angela. Angela furthermore made promises to my son that if he agreed with these statements of Angela’s version of our incident that she would give him a badge and he would be a hero. Once Dequisha came down from her emotional distress, and found out what truly was said and how false statements were given, she began to try to tell the truth and what really took place that night. Upon Angela and State Attorney Lauren Wuerth finding out that Dequisha wanted to come forth with the truth they then started to threaten, antagonize, and harass Dequisha.
People who swore to protect Dequisha were now against her, calling her an unfit mom and proceeded to take our children into DCFS custody. This is the first time our children have been without their mother since birth. The criminal justice system hasn’t done anything to give our family justice or fair due process. We have been separated and told that we can no longer speak to one another even though we went to court and had a state issued OP removed. The Cook County Jail approved Dequisha to come visit me and when she did they took our children.
Angela Koc, Lauren Worth, you did an amazing job of “PROTECTING AND SERVING” our family. I received my BA in Business and Administration in Division 11, a max jail facility, and never had the opportunity for my family, wife, children, and parents to see me walk the stage and receive the highest honor of summa cum laude. NO, I received my degree in jail fighting an attempt murder on my wife who I love dearly and now our family is separated and we are left to fight to be a family again.

I can’t speak too much because I’m afraid they will read my mail and bring further charges. But know I’m not a menace to society. I’m a Godly husband, family man who is a store manager and college graduate who LOVES MY FAMILY, MY WIFE AND CHILDREN WITH EVERY OUNCE OF LIFE I HAVE IN ME, and I dream of the day my family can be reunited again.
