SPEAK OUT! Against the criminalization of homelessness across CT

SPEAK OUT! Friday August 30th at 6 pm in front of the FastTrack Station on Beehive Bridge, New Britain, CT.

The homeless in this country have officially been sentenced to death by displacement with the recent supreme court ruling. Gavin Newsom, governor of California, has already used this to issue an executive order to remove all homeless encampments in California. The homeless have always been criminalized, especially in CT, but this is an escalation, so it is crucial now more than ever that we stand together and fight back. At the same time rent is soaring across the state and directly leads to people being displaced when they can no longer afford their rent. People get pushed out to other neighborhoods / cities or end up homeless.

Together with the homeless and poor, Dare to Struggle CT and Homeless Liberation Initiative are organizing a rally to bring people together and out of isolation, to give a voice to those under attack by this system, and to jumpstart another wave of fighting against criminalization, mistreatment, rising rents and displacement. These attacks only stop when everyday people come together to make them stop!

How to get involved:

  • Print and distribute our rally flyer wherever you live in the state (see below)
  • Join us on our weekly outings to meet people on and off the street throughout the state to bring them into the struggle
  • Send us photo and video testimony of your experience with criminalization and abuse as a homeless, formerly homeless, or as a renter (DM us or send an email to daretostrugglect@protonmail.com)
