What: Black Against Empire

When: Thursday, February 29th @ 7pm

Where: The Word is Change – 368 Tompkins Ave, Brooklyn, NY

This month, we are discussing Joshua Bloom and Waldo E. Martin Jr.’s Black against Empire: The History and Politics of the Black Panther Party. The storm of contradictions brought by the war in Vietnam and the civil rights era forged the Panthers. They played a vanguard role in the U.S., drawing from the anti-colonial struggles raging around the world to fight for the liberation of Black and all oppressed people. Through their bold action, conviction, and mass struggles, they became the center of revolutionary politics for a whole generation.
